School-Age Classes

Ballet –

This is a classical ballet class, without examinations. We work from the barre, moving onto to centre work. The class is fun without too much pressure; we want our students to develop a love of dancing and passion for ballet, with gentle guidance and technique development. We successfully achieve happy and relaxed ballerinas.

Tap –

Each class is adapted to the age and skill of the class, and as they develop, they can learn more complex tap dancing moves, rhythms, and techniques. Begin with tap warm-ups, then move on to combinations, corner to corner, and a routine to end. The 5-7 year old class will use a few props to help them stay focused and have fun while learning.

Jazz –

Jazz is a fabulous class where you can learn funky movements to cool music. The lessons are age appropriate, and we skip sexy dances in favour of showing them funky routines with no writhing!

The younger classes will have class events to keep them engaged and having fun while studying. Warm-ups, corner-to-corner motions, variations, and a routine Each age and ability level will be more challenged as they develop trust, coordination, and skill while having fun.

Each age group is increasingly challenged as their abilities and coordination improve.

Acrobatics –

Making use of mats and hoops. Starting with simple moves such as tumbles, cartwheels, and handstands and progress to more challenging moves such as lifts and flips as age and skill allow.

Hip hop –

A fun and Funky class that includes cool movements and music. The class will begin with a warm-up and stretching session before moving on to corner to corner and jazz technique. Finally, a funky routine. The music and steps used in the dance class and routines are age appropriate, as in all of our lessons.
