The 2021 Big kids concert venue TBD
We produce our shows wiht all the lights and bells and whistles of a big show, without the stress of endless rehearsals and tension of having to be perfect! We have a small run through on the day, then lunch then do the show! All we ask is for the dancers to do their best and have fun enjoying the wonders of moving to music in the presence of family and friends. A funny, engaging and relaxed day for everyone.
Each class will perform a dance routine and the finale routine.
We keep our concert relaxed and fun, as long as the kids are having fun and the routine looks together and special, we are happy!
In term 3 we will start working on a routine. The finale with all the students will be started towards the end of term 3.
The concert usually runs for approximately 60 to 75 minutes. There will be a stop/start dress rehearsal on the morning of the concert.
The theatre is booked for the whole day so we can rehearse, take a break, reset and then do the show. You can drop off your kids in the morning and come back at 1.45pm to watch the show.
What to bring –
NAMED Water Bottle.
NAMED Healthy Lunch / Snacks – To avoid highs and lows-no sugary sweets, please.
Quiet games e.g. colouring in, cards, etc. (Optional, however, it does keep the kids amused in the downtimes.)
A plate for the party afterwards.
A robe is good to go over costume if they are cold.
Hair – a Hair Style will be specified for your child on a note you will be given with the Costume Hire Envelope. Please ask if you are unsure. We can help on the day 🙂
Supply – you may also have been asked to supply some leggings or shorts. Please remember to pack these, and their dance shoes.
Make up – Spray tans and Make up are not necessary! If you’d like to add a little blush, lippy or mascara feel free. It helps to not look washed out on stage. We shall leave it up to you to decide!
Party after the show – Each year we have a little party in the foyer after the show. Please bring a little plate of nibbles to share.
Costumes – All our costumes and dance routines are appropriate for children. There are no midriff tops and short-short shorts.
The dance routines are innocent without overtly inappropriate moves. (They are kids!)
Each class will have their own dressing area and a clothes rack (or part of) where their costume will hang. For the younger classes, we may need some extra Mums to stay and help wrangle the kids.
Costume –
Costumes are supplied by an independent company working with GTW to make sure they adhere to our glittery standards, but all enquiries and fees for costumes to be done directly with that company.
DVD –
We will have a DVD available to order of the concert from the lovely Paul Newport Video company – DVD Order here!
