Here’s a little more about Glittery Tapping Wonderland from our glamorous Founder and Head Teacher Miss Lou Lou:

What I have founded all of my dance schools on is positivity, creativity and to have a good laugh whilst learning to dance. I went through many dance schools and after finishing a class, I left feeling worthless and hopeless. I always just wanted to dance, laugh and enjoy what I was learning, the elation of dancing with music whether I was good or bad. I never felt that. Stifled by boring music, uninspiring teachers left me feeling disillusioned.

So I decided to start my own dancing school so that I could do it my way!

Everyone should be able to dance and move to music, it doesn’t matter your age, size, ability, or disability. Dancing should be for everyone who wants to do it, be encouraged and made to feel completely welcome, all of the time.

Here’s a little bit more about our classes which you can try out and find out about at our upcoming Open Days in January!

Ballet –
This is a classical ballet class, without examinations. We work from the barre, moving onto to centre work. The class is fun without too much pressure; we want our students to develop a love of dancing and passion for ballet, with gentle guidance and technique development. We successfully achieve happy and relaxed ballerinas.

Tap –
Each class is tailored to the age and ability of the class and will learn more complex tap dancing steps, rhythms and techniques, as they progress. Starting with tap warm ups, combinations, corner to corner and a routine to finish. The 5-7 yrs class will use a small amount of props to help keep them focused and have fun whilst learning.

Jazz –
Jazz is a fabulous and fun class to learn funky moves to cool music. The classes are age appropriate and we steer clear of sexy moves teaching them funky routines without any writhing!

The younger classes will have activities within the class to keep them focused and have fun whilst learning. Warm ups, corner to corner, combinations and a routine. Each age group and level will be challenged more as they gain confidence, coordination and skill, whilst having fun.

Acrobatics –
Working with mats and hoops. Starting with learning tumbles, cartwheels, handstands and advance onto more difficult moves like lifts and flips as the age and abilities progress.

Hip hop –
A fun and Funky class with cool moves and music. The class will warm up and stretch and will move onto corner to corner and jazz technique. Finishing with a funky routine. As with all our classes the music and the moves used in the dance class and routines are age appropriate.
