2012 Concert Information
2012 FAIRY CONCERTS FOR 2-5yrs
Glen Huntly Studio -The week of the 19th of November
Mordialloc Studio – The week of the 26th of November
Northcote Studio – The week of the 3rd of December
THEME- Rainbows and Princess’s
The 2 to 5 years classes will perform an “In-House” concert, and our glorious theme for this year will be Rainbows and Princesses!
Don’t stress… It is really gorgeous, relaxed and we have it at the studio!
We set up the studio to look like a theatre with a curtain, magical coloured lights, chairs and special costumes for the performers.
There is no entry fee and you can invite dads, grandma’s grandpa’s, uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters!
Each class has their own individual concert. If two studios are running at the same time, they both will perform their dance separately and then join together to perform all their exercises.
You can photograph and video to your hearts content.
CONCERT FEE –
The concert fee of $35 covers costume hire, lighting and extra teachers to help dress performers as well as run the music, lighting, props and a plethora of tasks that complete the magic.
Term 3 we will be handing out an envelope for concert fees.
THE SHOW –
The Fairy Princesses arrive and we change them into their costume. Once families have arrived, are seated and the kids are ready we start the show!
The concert runs for 30 minutes approximately, consisting of their special dance routine as well as wonderful exercises they have learned in class, a one-at-a-time activity (so you can see your clever child) and then we stop for a group photos. Finishing up with bubbles, a fairy wish and more photos in their costume.
The Concert will run in intervals consisting of –
15 minutes to arrive & dress into costume.
30 minutes of concert.
15 minutes to undress out of costume and leave.
Families will arrive close to their normal class time.
Each session will start on the hour e.g. 9.30am, 10.30am, 11.30am and 12.30pm.
This is so we have an extra 15 minutes to get families in and out and re set the stage.
Our Concerts run like clockwork, so we ask that everyone tries really, really hard to arrive at least 5 or 10 minutes before their specified time.
We ask that your starlet arrives via the back entrance and waits with you in the upstairs foyer area until we finish undressing and hanging the previous class/concerts costumes before you bring your child into Studio 2 to get dressed.
Mummy can help dress their fairy and wait for a few minutes to make sure they feel safe and relaxed. (If they are nervous you can stay with them the whole time and then sneak into the audience when the concert starts.)
The rest of the Family will need to enter via the front entrance on High street so that it keep the element of surprise and we don’t have 4 million people back stage!
2011 FAIRY CONCERT WEEK-
Last year was our maiden voyage for Fairy Concert Week and it worked like a charm!
All of our concerts were so calm, relaxed, happy and delightful.
A perfect introduction to performing for little ones!
Our parent’s feedback was wonderful and comments made were –
~ They could see their children for more than 2 minutes.
~ There were no long and tiresome rehearsals.
~ The kids got to dress up and perform for family and friends.
~ They finished the year showing off how much they had learned.
~ It was wonderful and the kids loved every minute!

The concert for school age children will be at the Kew High School theatre. Each class will perform a dance routine and the finale routine.
We keep our concert relaxed and fun, as long as the kids are having fun and the routine looks together and special, we are happy!
Term 3 we will start working on a routine and the finale with all the students will be started towards the end of term 3.
The concert usually runs approximately 60 to 75 minutes.
There will be a stop/start dress rehearsal on the day of the concert.
The theatre is booked for the whole day so we can rehearse, take a break, reset and then do the show.
You can drop off you kids and come back at 1.45pm to watch the show.
Proposed running times for the concert day.
10.00am – Teachers and parent/helpers arrive with costumes, set up.
10.15am – Kids arrive and get dressed.
11.00am – Stop/start dress rehearsal in order of show, stops if need be, otherwise we will keep it running.
12.30pm – Hang up costume and eat lunch.
1.15pm – Re set stage and dress in costumes for show
2.00pm – Concert.
COSTUMES –
We organise the costume for each dance routine. Which means that you don’t have to sew or try to organise 10 costumes that look the same and look great on stage.
There will be a fitting later on in the year when we have an idea what their dance routine is about.
All our costumes and dance routines are appropriate for children. There are no midriff tops and short-short shorts.
The dance routines are innocent without overtly inappropriate moves. (They are kids!)
Each class will have their own dressing area and a clothes rack (or part of) where their costume will hang.
Please supply a packed healthy lunch, snacks and a drink bottle. (Named)
Please don’t pack sugary treats as it sends them a little crazy and the sticky fingers get all over everything.
You can also pack a game or colouring in to keep them amused in the down times.
For the younger classes we may need some extra Mums to stay and help wrangle the kids.
Please let us know if you are keen to stay and help.
COSTUME HIRE –
There will be a costume hire of $35, we will hand out an envelope possibly in term 3 for costume hire.
TICKETS –
Tickets will be available online from our website, but more on that later on in the year.
PHOTOS –
There will be an opportunity to take a group shot photo of each class after each dance routine.
DVD –
We will have a DVD available to order of the concert.

In-house – week of the 19th of November.
This year we will be having our school age kids concert In-House at the studio.
We hope to build classes and put on a show at a local theatre in 2013.
The plan for the concerts will be similar to the above Fairy Concerts but it will be more “grown-up”.

Finishing up with a repeat performance of their dance routine, they always perform it better the second time round because they have run though it and they are used to being “on stage”.
The Concert will run in intervals consisting of –

30 minutes of concert.
15 minutes to undress out of costume and leave.
