Pre-School/Fairy Classes.

Shyness –
Sometimes it takes a couple of sessions for children to settle into the class. To them, everything is new… new teacher, different faces, colourful studio, lots of music and noise. It can be a little overwhelming. This is normal and we see it all the time.
Often quieter or shy children will watch the class and look as though they are not participating. Don’t fret, they will be taking everything in and trying to learn what is being taught to them in the class.

Some may not do anything in the class and practise it at home. This is because they are making sure they can do it first before they participate, just in case they make a mistake and then feel embarrassed.

Sometimes they may need your help and you may need to participate to help them feel safe and then we will slowly wean you off the dance floor 🙂

Please be patient and allow your child some time to take it all in. Our classes are designed to help the children settle in and our teachers know exactly how to bring all the children together and have them dancing.

Miss Lou Lou often helps shy, nervous children settle in, please feel free to speak to their teacher or Miss Lou Lou and we certainly can help out that little bit extra.

Like all children, they love a routine and we follow a gorgeous Fairy program that develops with them as they grow, dance instruction is taught with gorgeous props and fun and exciting exercises to make the learning process a joy.

If your child joins mid-term as we have found they join in with the rest the class and follow along with the others that know what to do and our gracious teachers nurture and encourage and allow them to find their confidence within the class.

You will notice the classes are in age groups 2 to 3 yrs, 3 to 4yrs and 4 to 5yrs. These age-ranges work with our specifically designed program and we find that once a child reaches the next age up, e.g. turns 3 years old, they are ready for the next age-group. Please don’t place your child into an older age-group, if you are unsure where they would fit in, please speak to Miss Lou Lou.

Our dancing studio in Melbourne could be just right for your aspiring little dancer aged 2 to 4 years old. Our Fairies learn so much more than just to dance! They learn to listen and follow instruction, wait for their turn, share and help their gracious teacher. Wow!
