School-Age Ballet
(Ages 5yrs and over) This is a classical ballet class, without examinations. We work from the barre, moving onto to centre work. The class is fun without too much pressure; we want our students to develop a love of dancing and passion for ballet, with gentle guidance and technique development. We successfully achieve happy and relaxed ballerinas.
A gorgeous ballet class where the kids will learn ballet positions and terminology, without too much pressure. Our classes still follow some of the rituals they have learned in the Fairy classes but as they grow older the class grows with them and their fairy-ness takes a back seat.
The class will entail stretches, ballet positions and exercises in our circle. Then practise at the Barre, moving onto steps across the room and corner to corner.
We use some props within the class to keep the class fun an relaxed.
Classes promote good posture and confidence and the love of dancing in a fun and nurturing environment.

While we are indeed a Melbourne dance school that loves any opportunity to introduce ballet to any age, we are particularly thrilled with our direction for Ballet classes. Ballet For Kids!
Our Melbourne school wants to make all types of dancing available to all ages. Our ballet for kids classes are naturally one of our most popular. Young children can begin to discover the magic of this physical art form at a very early age through our fairy ballet classes. These allow young children to learn whether or not future ballet for kids lessons will be right for them. They will be able to discover this in a fun, light-hearted atmosphere. They will learn the basics of positions, stretching, and exercises that help to emphasize the fundamentals. We will never lose sight of how old the little ones are, and we will also strive to teach them the value of cooperation, of listening to their instruction, and of learning in a group setting. Children will gain a sense of discipline through learning new positions which will involve coordination and balance. Gaining confidence through performing in front of an audience is a strong benefit and social skill set in aiding young children. When young, children learn easily and quickly and adpat much better than older children so we do encourage parents to recognize this fact and enrol at any of our studios across Melbourne.
As your child gets older, if they find that they want to learn more, we have additional classes for all sorts of age groups. No matter how old your child is, we can find children courses that will appeal to their current experience level, while giving them new material that will inspire them in the future.
