I hope everyone enjoyed their school holiday and is settling into Term 3.
Each month a Taploid/Newsletter arrives in your email box, or printed out at the studio as well as on our website.
If you are at the studio and reading this, maybe you haven’t received it via email. In which case your address maybe wonky in our Data base.

TERM FEES
Are now due!
Please make sure you have paid the balance of your term (after your trial or deposit).
After the 3^rd week (after Saturday the 3^rd of August) there is a 10% late fee added.

Mordialloc Studio – The week of the 18th of November

Northcote Studio – The week of the 25th of November

Glen Huntly Studio – The week of the 2nd of December

THEME – Sunshine & Butterflies

The 2 to 5 years classes will perform an “In-House” concert, and our glorious theme for this year will be Sunshine and Butterflies!

Don’t stress… It is really gorgeous, relaxed and we have it at the studio!We set up the studio to look like a theatre with a curtain, magical coloured lights, chairs and special costumes for the performers.

There is no entry fee and you can invite dads, grandma’s grandpa’s, uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters!Each class has their own individual concert.

If two studios are running at the same time, they both will perform their dance separately and then join together to perform all their exercises.

You can photograph and video to your hearts content.

CONCERT FEE –
The concert fee of $35 covers costume hire, lighting and extra teachers to help dress performers as well as run the music, lighting, props and a plethora of tasks that complete the magic.

Term 4 we will be handing out an envelope for concert fees.

2013 CONCERT THEME “Great Moments in Time!”

Northcote Studio – Sunday the 3rd of November at 2pm at the Kew High School. 826 High St, East Kew

Mordialloc Studio – Sunday the 17th of November at 2pm at Cornish College. 65 Riverend Rd, Bangholme

Glen Huntly Studio

COSTUME HIRE – 
There will be a costume hire of $35, we will hand out an envelope in term 3 with a take home notice of details of the day. The envelopes will need to be handed back by the last week of term so we know who to finalise costumes for over the next term’s holidays.

Next term there will be 1 more take home notice with details about the actual costume your child will be wearing, which includes hairstyles etc and any small extras you need to provide.

Whilst we do provide the entire costume, sometimes there are small personal items of clothing, like tights or leggings that you need to provide yourself. These items are nearly always found already in your wardrobe, or inexpensive and easy to find at the shops.

GLITTERISATION WORKSHOP!
Watch out! Here comes the next Glitterization Day.

We usually have a Glitterization workshop each term so that those drab ol’ beige tap shoes can become exceedingly fabulous!
(Glittery shoes are not compulsory!)

Date – Saturday the 31^st of August.
Northcote Studio – Time – Please arrive at 3.00pm to start at 3.15pm.
Mordialloc Studio – Time – Please arrive at 2.15pm to start at 2.30pm.
Cost – $20 – To be pre-paid.

Please place your name on the signup sheet and pay your $20 so we know who is coming!

What you need to bring along-
– Your Dance shoes.
– 3 vials of glitter.
(Please don’t forget the glitter – such a personal choice!)

GLITTERISATION ADVICE!
You can purchase glitter at Sam’s Warehouse, the Value Craft glitter is very good for Glitterizing your shoes.
Spotlight’s glitter is a bit dodgy and seems to fall off!
If you are going for, say, a pink glittery shoe, it can look fabulous with some opal or holographic silver mixed in. It’s good to have some course glitter and some fine glitter in the mix.
If you are going for a primary colour like red or aqua, stick with the one colour glitter, as it will look insanely extraordinary!
Jaggered glitter also tends to fall off and looks a little nasty.
Please try not to stress too much over your glitter purchase, as they will look amazing once you have finished, whatever the colour!

CLASS TIMES
We ask if you could try to be on time for your dance classes.
The start of the class is just as important as the middle. The fairies class begins with stars on their right foot and some magical glitter, a ritual that connects them with the teacher and makes them feel part of the class. If the fairy is late, they miss out which can be quite devastating for a 3 year old!

If a child is late we will give them their stars and glitter, but this holds up the class or interrupts the exercise that the class has started on.
The older kids classes will miss out on warming up, which is a very important part to every dance class.

Shhhhhhh…!!!!
Please help the teachers keep their classes relaxed by entering the studio quietly and keeping voices low while class is in progress. Please do refrain from talking while class is happening as this can be very distracting for the little ones and the teacher.

Please keep your little ones from running onto the dance floor while classes are running as this is dangerous for them as well as distracting to the teacher and the students in class. If there are siblings running around, it becomes all a bit chaotic.

We are happy for siblings joining in for bubbles.

MAKE-UP CLASSES
If your child is unwell or are going to miss a class we are happy for them to do a make-up class.
It is most important to book in for the make-up session because if you arrive to a class without us knowing there maybe several other children also having their make-up session on the same day/time. This can cause colossal chaos and may result in having 14 children in a class and your gracious teacher foaming at the mouth.

Please call your studio manager PRIOR to the class so we can work out where you can fit in.

Make-up classes must be made up within the same term.
If we are not notified prior to class we cannot offer a make-up class.

We now have gorgeous pink and lilac chiffon skirts added to our range!
There is also a range of wonderful leotards, fairy skirts, tutu’s, tie tops, leotard with skirts attached and princess dresses!
Please let your studio manager or instructor know during the class gap if you would like to try anything on.

If your local childcare centre, primary school or kindergarten is having a fund raising event, Glittery Tapping Wonderland is happy to donate a Voucher.

Please see your studio manager and she will hand one over with glee!
