Term 4

Term 4 will finish up on Saturday the 17th of December.

Concert for 5 years + (School Age)!

Theme – “ You’re Dreamin!”

Our 5 years + Concert (school age kids) has crept up on us very quickly! We decided to hold it earlier this year so it didn’t compete with Christmas and the very busy time of year.

CONCERT DATES -

Northcote Studio – Sunday 6th of November at 2.30pm. Renaissance Theatre. 826 High Street East Kew.
Mordialloc Studio – Sunday the 20th of November at 2pm at Aspendale Primary School. Laura St, Aspendale.

Costumes

Miss Vanessa will be in the studio in the next couple of weeks to fit costumes so that they will be looking fabulous on stage!
Our costumes are colourful and fun, there will be no midriff tops or anything brief or too grown up.
The cost of the costume hire will be $35.

Each child will receive an envelope for the costume hire, could you possibly hand that back to Miss Vanessa this week with the correct amount so we can get it all finalized.
You will also receive a yellow note with an item you may need to supply, such as ¾ leggings, or tights, maybe a singlet to cover a tummy.

For the Finale Dance your child will either be a policeman or a burglar. (This will also be stated on the note)

So you will also need to supply either a black outfit with a black beanie or eye mask, or a white outfit with a Policeman’s hat.

The outfit can be leggings and a tee shirt, or a skirt or dress, it can sparkle or not, we are not strict; it is all about the colour contrast for the effect on stage.

If you have any queries regarding the costumes, you can email Miss Vanessa at missvanessa@glitterytappingwonderland.com

Make up and Hair

The kids are welcome to wear a little make up on stage, but we don’t expect full-face make up in colour 06 and a spray tan!

It is fun to put on some mascara, lipstick and maybe a little rouge so they don’t wash out on stage, but if you are against it, it is fine.

Each group may have a hairstyle, so check with Miss Vanessa as to what they will need, maybe some pigtails if they wear a hat, a ponytail or bun if they have a coronet. Some may have a wig, so they may need their hair in a couple of plaits to sit underneath easily.

Rehearsal

This year the rehearsal is on the day of the concert.

10.00am – Teachers and Parent helpers arrive with costumes, set up.

10.30am – Kids arrive and get dressed into costume.

11.00am – Stop/start dress rehearsal in running order of show, stops if need be.

1.00pm – Finale Rehearsal – Everyone on stage. Stop / Start.

1.15pm – Hang up costume and eat lunch. Kids will need to bring a packed lunch.

2.00pm – Re-set stage and dress in costumes for show.

2.30pm – Concert!

Parent Helpers

We ask if we could have one Mum per class to help back stage before the concert, making sure the kids have all their hats pinned on, zips zipped up, or accessories in the right place.

This special Mum will need to take their groups costumes and accessories home the week prior to the concert and bring them to the theatre at 10.00am on the Concert Day and help the children dress.

After their dance re-hang the costumes and make sure the accessories are all back in their bag.

You will be able to watch the show of course.

Please let Miss Vanessa know if you are keen to help.

Thanks : )

Concert for 2 to 5 years

CONCERT WEEKS –

Mordialloc the week of the 5th of December.

Northcote the week of the 28th of November.

St Kilda the week of the 12th of December.

The 2 to 5 years classes will perform an “In-House” concert.
We invite the parents and family of the child to come along to this special class and watch their fairy at their special concert.
Families will arrive close to their normal class time, although each session will start on the hour e.g. 9.30am, 10.30am, 11.30am and 12.30pm which will give us an extra 15 minutes to have families of the class prior out and families of the next class in!
The “Concert” will run in 15 minutes intervals consisting of 15 minutes to arrive & dress into costume, 15 minutes of concert then 15 minutes to undress out of costume and leave.

Mummy will take the Fairy to the change area where they will change them into their costume.
All the mums and dads and family will sit down and wait for the show.
When everyone is ready, the kids will perform their routine. With or without their teacher – the 4-5yrs may not need their teacher.
The parents can take photos and video as they dance and they will finish with a pose at the end of the routine so the parents can take a group photo.
The classes will show-off/perform a couple of exercises that they do in class, maybe something new, something very special.
Finishing with bubbles, curtsy and a fairy wish and lots of cuddles!

Costumes

Miss Vanessa will be organizing costumes soon so that they will be looking fabulous for their special day!
As with our big kids our costumes will pretty, colourful and special, no midriffs.
The cost of the costume hire will be $35.
Each child will receive an envelope for the costume hire on the day of the fitting, which can be returned to Miss Vanessa with the correct amount.

HEALTH CORNER

With Dr Lottie Prospect.

Dear Dr. Lottie,

At the Glittery Tapping Wonderland’s Concert last year I remember you performed an electrifying Hip Hop routine with your husband The Professor.
Will you be performing this year?
I am in suspense as it is always extremely fascinating to see your expertise in the art of dance.
Signed Eager and Expectant.

Dear Eager and Expectant,

I am exceptionally pleased to inform you that the Professor and I have been occupied on an item for the recital.
Considering that we excelled in all forms of The Hip Hop, The Breaking, The Locking and such, we decided to spend our time this year perfecting a new technique.
As this year’s the Concert Theme is “You are Dreaming”, the Professor and I assessed that we needed to express an internal yearning that we have always dreamed being staged.
I am positive you will be enthralled with our achievements.

Thank you for your over-enthusiastic letter.

Dr Lottie.
