COMBINING OUR PRE SCHOOL CLASSES: We often combine 2 elements in our pre-school class, which gives your fairies a chance to learn more than one style and also keeps them focused.
The class runs for 45 minutes, we usually start with approximately 20 minutes of Fairy Ballet, stop for a drink of water and then spend 20 minutes or so on the next element. If they are learning Fairy Tap, they change into their tap shoes. Fairy Jazz they usually wear their ballet shoes.
FAIRY BALLET: 2 to 3 yrs & 3 to 4 yrs.
Fairy Ballet is a magical and creative introduction to dance and music for little Fairies, for both girls and boys.
Our classes have lovely rituals that the children get to know and look forward to, like bubbles and fairy glitter and wishes at out fairy garden.We teach basic ballet positions, stretch and learn simple exercises and use props, treasures and imagination to help them learn and stay focused.
Your child can wear their favourite fairy dress, super hero costume, ballet outfit or just something they can dance have fun in.
Our 2 to 3 yrs classes are all about gaining the little ones trust, having them listen and learn, helping them to stay focused and follow instructions as they gain the confidence to step away from Mummy and do all their activities by themselves.
The 3 to 4 yrs classes we start to ask more of them and tend to be able to focus a little longer on an exercise or activity and become more complex as the year goes on. You will be surprised at how quickly they start to learn names of their ballet positions and steps.
FAIRY TAP: 3-4 yrs
Once your Fairies have changed into their Tap shoes, they will warm up their ankles with basic tap steps either in a circle or at the barre, learning the names of the steps as they go. They move onto some travelling exercises with props and often an obstacle course.
We have a small amount of Fairy Tap classes offered to our 2 to 3 yrs age group, but we have found that their feet are so tiny that it is hard to find shoes to fit. Often the noise of the shoes can be upsetting to the very little ones.
FAIRY JAZZ: 2 to 3 yrs & 3 to 4 yrs:
Our Fairy Jazz classes are really fun and learn some jazz moves and coordination to up tempo music. They start this part of the class following a warm up with their teacher. Hopping, clapping, hips swings, isolating different parts of their body. Learning combinations and moves put together with an obstacle course, building their concentration and coordination and flexibility.
Our Jazz classes are not at all sexy (of course) as they are little! It is a great introduction to Jazz dancing.
GIGGLE BALLET: 4-5 yrs
Giggle Ballet is a step up in level from our Fairy Ballet classes. The class is still magical and creative and will have a few well-loved rituals, but because of their age and abilities, we can ask a lot more from them and really have them learn a lot more.
Learning ballet positions, stretching and performing more complex exercises. Their activities and dancing will be more challenging and designed to make them reach.
GLITTERY TAP: 4 to 5 yrs
After changing into their Tap shoes, our dancers will learn more complex tap dancing steps and techniques. Starting at the barre with ankle exercises and shuffles. The will start to put small challenging combinations together. The classes are designed so they start to listen to the music and try to get their beats in time as well as improve their coordination and their repertoire of tap dancing steps.
FUNKY JAZZ: 4-5 yrs
This is a funky class for boys and girls.
The class is age related, so not at all sexy. We have them executing a lot more moves, which require a little more concentration and coordination.
We start with a fun warm up, exercises and combinations and then move onto corner to corner or an obstacle course. An energetic fun class, which has plenty of moves to help boost their confidence, gain flexibility, co-ordination and let off some steam!
COMBINING OUR SCHOOL AGE CLASSES:
We combine some of our classes and include 2 elements in the class; this gives the students a chance to learn more than one style and also keeps them focused.
The Jazz and Acrobatics classes are combined to include dance technique and have them warmed up to move onto the more strenuous acrobatic moves.
The classes run for 45 minutes each element runs for 20 to 25 minutes with a drink/shoe change in between.
BALLET: 5-7 yrs, 8-10 yrs & 11-14yrs.
This is a classical ballet class, without examinations. We work from the barre, moving onto to centre work. The class is fun without too much pressure; we want our students to develop a love of dancing and passion for ballet, with gentle guidance and technique development. We successfully achieve happy and relaxed ballerinas.
GLITTERY TAP: 5-7 yrs, 8-10 yrs & 11-14yrs.
Each class is tailored to the age and ability of the class and will learn more complex tap dancing steps, rhythms and techniques, as they progress. Starting with tap warm ups, combinations, corner to corner and a routine to finish. The 5-7 yrs class will use a small amount of props to help keep them focused and have fun whilst learning.
FUNKY JAZZ: 5-7 yrs, 8-10 yrs & 11-14yrs.
Funky Jazz is a fabulous and fun class to learn funky moves to cool music. The classes are age appropriate and we steer clear of sexy moves teaching them funky routines without any writhing!
The younger classes will have activities within the class to keep them focused and have fun whilst learning. Warm ups, corner to corner, combinations and a routine. Each age group and level will be challenged more as they gain confidence, coordination and skill, whilst having fun.

ACROBATICS: 5-7 yrs, 8-10 yrs & 11-14yrs.
Starting with Jazz we get the class warmed up and then move onto acrobatics, working with mats and hoops. Starting with learning tumbles, cartwheels, handstands and advance onto more difficult moves like lifts and flips as the age and abilities progress.
Tap is a glamorous way to exercise without going to the Gym! (Magnificent for your legs!) The spotlight is on techniques to make ankles flexible, flair with rhythms, and improving your style, elegance and grace!
Absolute Beginners ~ is for dancers 16 and over, sometimes way over! Starting right from the beginning, finding you feet, learning the basics. Its great fun and you can impress friends at parties by showing them you tap steps! Always impressive 🙂
Beginners ~ Tapping for a term or two, need to work on a few basics for confidence.
Not-So-Beginners ~ For those with approximately 1 year of tap dancing experience, or those who tapped as a child and returning after a long break. Lots of refresher combinations and familiar dance steps, without starting from the very beginning.
Almost Intermediate ~ Tapping approximately 18 months for 2 years.
Intermediate ~ This is an adult class for tappers who have been hoofing approximately 2 to 3 years.
Gentle-Intermediate ~ Tapping approximately 2 to 3 years but not too speedy, less rigorous.
Almost-Advanced ~ Tapping approximately 3 years.
Advanced ~ Tapping approximately 4 years and more.
Broadway Tap ~ Dancing to music from all the classic musical, fun girly steps. The style of the Tap is light and up on your toes. Great chorus line styled choreography.
Beg/Inter Jazz ~ We start with warming up and simple stretches, move onto exercises and combinations and corner to corner, finishing with a routine. An energetic fun class, which you can work at your own pace, will boost confidence, gain flexibility, co-ordination.
Beginners Ballet ~ A gentle introduction to Ballet. Learning the basics of Ballet, stretching, and movement to music. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t done Ballet before!
Gentle Jazz & Gentle Tap ~ These classes are especially designed for women or men over 50, or are carrying extra weight and would like to exercise but feel the high-pressure, fast moving classes are too much for them.Our classes are low impact, which means the hopping and jumping is kept very minimal, good for sore knees and backs.
We will dance to music from the 40’s through to the 80’s, great music that will keep you dancing long after you leave the dance floor.
We will warm up gently, work on technique and learn a fabulous routine, then cool down and stretch to finish.
